Product Description
This cutter is absolutely unbelievable. It features a little button, that when pressed down, snaps open the cutter like a switchblade. For years, this type of cutter was monopolized by one company, Xikar. Now you can get a super sharp cutter, for a fraction of their price. In fact, this cutter is so inexpensive, you could buy 2-3 for the price of a Xikar. Now you dont have to worry if you lose to darn thing, or if you get mad and want to throw it at the TV when your… More >>

For the price, this cutter simply cannot be beat.
I own a myriad of cutters (a handful of traditional guillotines, one Xikar cutter), and this one is the best. In my opinion, the Colibri is far better than the Xikar.
The Colibri feels more solid. The Xikar, while still a nice cutter, doesn’t always completely open up with a flick of the switch. The Colibri opens EVERY time.
Both cut well, but the feel of the Colibri makes the cutting experience smoother.
The price . . . well, if you’ve done your research on the Xikar, you know that you can buy two of these firebirds for the price of one Xikar.

The cutter looks nice and has a good feel in the hand. It unfortunately doesn’t cut as well as it should.
The blades just don’t seem to be very sharp. On any but the smallest diameter cigars you can see where the blades have pulled on the cigar rather than just making a clean cut. I already have some “free with cigar order” double bladed cutters that do a much better job. The primary reason I went to a more expensive cutter was for the look and feel. When I spoil myself with a good cigar I like the whole experience to be special. This cutter isn’t special.
I give it 3 stars because it does deliver what’s promised. It feels and looks good and is significantly cheaper than some other switchblade cutters. And it does cut, just not well enough for my taste. If you only smoke smaller cigars this cutter is okay. If you enjoy a good cigar and everything that goes with it, then it will be a disappointment.
