Just what I wanted to keep an expensive hand rolled cigar in the condition that you could finish it the next day if need be. This is the only way recommended in the “Idiot’s guide to cigars” for keeping a started cigar for longer than 15mins after it has gone out. Expandable (just pull lightly), titanium look, and the bottom easily screws off for a total washing. Has a handy pocket-clip as well.

  2. I wasn’t expecting much, going off previous reviews I expected what I got. It works great when hitting the road and you want to just bring a single stick with but don’t want to risk smashing it in your pocket or have no good way to transport it or don’t want to bring a portable humidor.

When you fire up your stogie and use this to snub it it works but depending how much of a cherry you had on your stogie it can have a hint of smoke/off taste to it but nothing like if you just put it out and leave it out or just throw it back into some enclosure (like my friend who tossed his back in his humidor GASP!!!!). However if you clip it and blow out the cigar and put it in here it works PERFECT. Fire it back up just like that first light, works wonders. Even tested it firing up the same stogie twice no less.

    I recommend this highly.

Great device for when you get interrupted while enjoying your favorite cigar. Recently, when visiting my in laws, I decided to step out for a cigar. Of course half way through my 1926 Padron my wife and her mother had come home and were ready to head out to dinner. Grumbling about my bad timing, I had a few more puffs then gave a nice exhale through the cigar(to clear out smoke within the tobacco)and slipped it into the cigar saver. Later that evening I was able to spark my cigar back up. I was happy to be able to finish my cigar, it was like I had only stepped away from it for a few min.

Well, first of all, I am not a regular cigar smoker. I’m one of those rare-special-occasion-only people. I got this just for transportation purposes. I don’t think it’s a perfect solution, but for under $10, I think it’s worth the money. Especially for how infrequently I use the thing.

The main shaft of the tube is a pretty sturdy metal, as is the bottom screw cap. Unfortunately (and for reasons unknown) the entire top portion is plastic, including the flip cap and the section that elongates. The only metal part in the top section is the pocket clip. It boggles the mind, frankly — had the entire tube been metal, this would have gone from “worth the money” to a 5-star “Fanstastic Deal of Incredible Awesomeness” (or similar variant).

Now, I haven’t used the thing to actually snuff a lit cigar. I’m pretty sure it would be fine, but the fact that the top section is plastic (which could melt) bothers me. Now, the description states:

“Inside this attractive tube there is a cigar snuffer that extinguishes your cigars immediately and keeps it safe until you are ready to finish it.”

Cigar snuffer inside the tube? I’m not sure what they’re referring to, but it’s a hollow tube. There’s nothing in it. I guess “cigar snuffer” is media-speak for “a lit cigar in an enclosed tube will eventually go out due to lack of oxygen”?

But at any rate, as a single-stick case, it works great. The cap is the weak point here though, because when closed it merely sits on top, and since the hinge is plastic, it has some side-to-side movement that makes it feel like it could break off.

But for its few bad points, it hasn’t failed yet. It’s likely that it is actually stronger than it feels when you hold it.

All in all, it does what I wanted it to, and it does it for a reasonable price. I think as long as you know you’re not getting something that’s metal all the way through, you won’t be disappointed.

Not much to say about this product except its very well built. The bottom cap screws off for cleaning, and the top “flip” is very sturdy and stays tightly closed. During the week I keep this tube in my laptop backpack, usually loaded with a nice Montecristo, or Romeo y Julieta…for those long days at work!

The expanding design is excellent and accommodates everything from 5″ veronas to 7″ churchills. I keep this with me at all times, and its held up very well, I even let my boss bring it to Florida last month to keep his special cargo safe at the beach.

Id highly recommend this cigar saver tube if your enjoy a fine cigar once a month or once a day!
